From his groundbreaking coverage of robotic heart surgery to a landmark Moscow interview with Russia's fusion pioneer Dr. Andrei Sakharov, Marc's devoted his career to making science and medicine more accessible and easier to understand.
Marc argues that science, technology, and especially biotechnology, get limited coverage on television and radio because people fear what they don't understand. His novel, fun approach relies on everyday familiar objects as metaphors to make science more relevant to a non-scientific public. Because television is such a prominent source of information, Marc's launched a series of worldwide seminars for scientists and researchers, teaching ways to turn complex science into catchy, exciting, television news.
Marc's professional career spans more than thirty years, and includes science reporting for CBS, CNN, PBS, and TechTV. His dedication earned him three Emmy Awards, a Cine Golden Eagle, and numerous Associated Press Awards. In May, 2004, Marc was a featured guest on National Public Radio's popular "TechNation" with Dr. Moira Gunn. In response to many audience requests, Marc is chronicling some of his favorite science and medical experiences for a new book which, like his TV stories, will be geared towards those many of us who hear "science" and grab the remote to change the channel.
